heavy arrows

#1 Post by joe harrod1945 »

I built one arrow 28"2215 4"3 feathers with 160gr grizzley broadhead put 26"1916 shaft inside 2215 shaft in super glued. The combined weight came to 668gr.shot it today at 10yds went completely thru target. That is enough penetration to kill a deer at 15yds.I shoot a 45# k-mag.The arrow shoots straight an true happy with it.The buck i shot during pre rut came upon me so fast at 5yds in the brush,I only had a split second to shoot.I shot him in the shoulder went in about 4".He threw the arrow out an walked away.I watched him for about 125 yds.He never acted hurt.I waited an hour or so.Very little blood.I saw him during gun season live an well.I was shooting a carbon arrow with 125gr bear razor head.I weighted the arrow at 369gr too light big mistake.I was a sick puppy at that time.If the lord willing i will be back hunting this year. :D

Good luck on your new combo, Joe. Sounds like a winning combination.

668 gr sounds light for all that shaft and broad head.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

28" 2215 weights 299gr 26"1916 weights 260gr inserts an nock weights 30gr broadhead weights 160gr = 749gr my BAD.The old saying is if you do not make mistakes you are not doing any thing. The 45# k-mag can handle that much weight. That is fine for me at 15yds.The k-mag seems quieter.I could put my b97 string on it but i will stick with b50.I was shooting about 5"to 6" depth at 10 yds an went to complete pass thru. The k-mag will stack the last 1"of 27,5"of draw. The k-mag actual pull weight is 43.4 lbs.The first deer i killed in 1975 was a 43lb@28" browning nomad stalker. My draw lenght was 28".I want to make sure i am politically correct somebody might call my hand on it. hehe

and most anywhere.
Jesus replaces the old covenant and speaks to the believer the moral code of God by His Spirit directly to the heart. He is the eternal, everlasting revelation of God to mankind. In Him is both the knowledge of righteousness and the power to live right.
