I'm sooo close to finishing the bow but this hunting season thing seems to be getting in the way!

Got to sand a little more this morning and began testing some new finishing tricks. I read that Armor-All protectant used with Tru-Oil has a reaction that makes the Tru-Oil dry fast.

That it does; I may have messed up by spraying the Armor All on first, but it sure does cause it to dry!

You may wonder why I would want it to dry fast. It requires many coats to look good and that stuff can stay tacky for a long time! This can make the process last for days.

That is really looking sweet, Tony! And thanks for the tip on the Armor All. I love a Tru-Oil finish but you're right on the time factor.
Do you know if it works with tung oil or boiled linseed oil as well?

Thanks guys; I'm getting close on this one. Lesson learned today; before spraying glass make sure that you think first. I wiped the glass down good with a paper towel to remove all dust and any string wax I may have gotten on the limbs. Then after spraying I watched all sorts of what I call fish eyes popping out. I had never had this to happen before! I scratched my head, sanded most of it off with fine steel wool, cleaned, and sprayed it again. Suddenly before my eyes it began separating and making fish eyes again! I was thinking it was the polyurethane so the second time I used something different. Then it hit me, only one thing I had done differently than in the past..... ARMOR ALL!! :o
You can't tell in this picture but it's there!

A better look at what happens if you let Armor All midst on the glass.
