Last year my buddy was hunting it and just before dark, 2 silhouettes of large bucks were fighting and growling. They went happy. He made sure they let the area before getting down.

Beginning to think most of the Deer in our area have died from this Blue Tongue. Hunting areas that we usually see lots of Deer and seeing nothing. Used my climbing stand this morning, saw nothing again. Neither did Mark, I still enjoyed sitting in a tree!

It's still a bit tough Tony...give it time. They are still scattered pretty badly. Once they start grouping up a bit it will get better.

Heading out early tomorrow morning for my first hunt of the year. Doubt I'll sleep much tonight, I'm getting pretty excited!

Been making some calls trying to get a little trip up. First guy is one I have traveled all over on hunts with over the years. He was on his way back from hunting all week at a place he and I had hunted many times together. He said that he had not seen a deer. Then suddenly he said wait just a moment, I take that back, then he said he was pumping gas in the city leaving the hunt and there was a deer standing within range of him pumping his gas! He had been on three trips this year and not having any success. Called another guy and he had been fishing in the river near where I hunt. Said he saw seven deer dead in the river as he was floating down it fishing. This is not just about deer patterns, our deer are dying! I've done this too many years to give up or get discouraged but he hunts and trail cams don't lie, Deer are thinner this season. But I will continue hunting them!
