Just heard thrue the grape vine

#1 Post by Graps »

That this gentleman that I know was talking about the knives I make .
He mentioned that he sure wished he could get one .
My wife found out about it and asked me to build him one .
The thing is , he is handicapped and will never use it , so it should be one for looking at .
I'm not sure how big to make it but I have already picked out the wood for it .
I'm thinking Black Palm .

Oh , I forgot , I was hoping for some input like the blade style and rather it should be a belt sheath or what I was thinking , a neck sheath .
It's his legs that has him slowed down , his hands work just fine .
In fact you should hear him crank on his fiddle . Not to mention his hammer dulcimer .
That's why I'm going with wood . And if any of you could think of a better wood to use , mention that too .
The more ideas I get , the better .
Thanks for your help .

Thanks to Jose from Flatline Bows .
He has given me some chunks of exotic wood that are to small to use for bows .
That Jose is quite a guy .

Wood is a real personal thing, lots of purdy ones out there though, I think some zircote would look good with that black palm. I like drop point scandi ground knives myself but for aesthetics value it's hard to beat a big clip point bowie knife IMO

I like the wood you posted. I'm thinking large belt sheath knife.

Maybe something small and practical like a Canadian belt knife would be cool too.
