Finished the blade and finish sanded the handle .
Next will be the finish on the handle .
I'm thinking of starting with Minwax Wood Hardener because the light colored would is very soft and I'm afraid it could dent easy .
Then I will finish off with Lyn Speed . Or maybe True Oil .

I would go so far as to call that...stunning. Nice work, Dale. You are a true craftsman.

I will never use this Black Palm again .
The dark pieces are much harder than the tan , and they fall out and splinter off .
I'm having an awful time with the finish , I sand and more pull off .
I might just scrap it out and start over with a different wood .

Usually when someone does a build along it is point A to point B .
Well I've really hit a snag , this Black Palm is putting up a fight .
Don't know if you can see from the picture , but some of the dark wood has come out leaving shallow trenches .
I still have some tricks up my sleeve and we shall see if this one works .
I'm putting Loctite Super Glue in the grooves and hopefully I can sand them smooth and hide the blemishes .

Hmmm....i think I'd go with it, and pick all of the black out to form trenches all over the handle. Then finish it with them in it. Make a nice feel like the old barn wood or bone case pocket knives.

What would Jose say about dealing with it?
