I have never seen a rose hue in an antler .
I have made the buttons for many years and this is a first .
Imagine how they will look when I get them polished .

Re: Button surprise
Almost looks like the marrow is still "green".
I made a crude primitive arm guard a couple years back out of otter pelt and used buck antler buttons for catches. My oldest son still uses it after he nabbed it as soon as I finished it. I'll see if I can get him to send pics. Fur in...leather out. He says he loves the feel of the fur on his arm ....lol

The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.
Re: Button surprise
Got one polished up but no holes yet .
My wife wants two of them to make ear rings .
So I'll polish them all and let her pick .
