Something for you to think about.

I like most everyone that shoots traditional, tried to tune my arrows until they are perfect bare shafting.
About 6 years ago I was shooting at the local archery shop with my 60# Bear Takedown. It liked 105# spined arrows, and I couldn't find woods that heavy so I was just shooting 2317 aluminum.
The owner who is one of the most knowledgeable people about archery that I have ever known handed me three wood arrows and asked me to try them.
They were spruce and the same length that I was shooting.
I shot all three right where I was looking same as the aluminums.
There was no fish tailing at all and the point of impact was exactly the same.
The range I was shooting was 20 yards.
He asked me what I thought and I said I really liked them. And asked him where he got some 105# arrows?
He told me they were 85# :o
The trick was that they were fletched with 5 1/2" parabolic feathers. :?
I asked him why he didn't tell me that before I shot them and he said " They wouldn't have worked if you knew that".
So what's the point of all this?

Two fold, fletch stabilizes arrows really well, two we may not know as much as we think? Spruce is really strong.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

Keep the guessing.
A couple of good points brought up though. ;)

You can over think and drive yourself sane by trying to get everything perfect! The mind is a powerful thing...and cause what's well, to not seem acceptable.

I'd like to see how those arrows were flying at 3-5 yards though.
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.

When I was a kid I would shoot frogs and seldom miss.
I also shot 13 striped ground squires in the yard.
When I was 17 I got my K-Mag 45#@28" My draw length was about 30".
I went to the sports shop and bought a half dozen field point arrows and a half dozen with Bodkin 3 blade broad heads. Both were 45#-50#.
After all it was a 45# bow.
Took several rabbits with that setup and when I was 19 I took my first deer.
From the age of 18 to about 24, I hunted snapping turtles with that bow. Shot the turtles in the neck and also very rarely missed. Granted the shots were usually 10 feet or less in a couple feet of water.
Then when I was in my mid 20s, I learned how to shoot with the proper setup. And how to get the proper alignment with my arms and shoulders.
Beat the crap out of my bow arm and couldn't hit a thing to save my life.
I fought with that for about two years and was talking to my dad about it and he asked me what was different?
Then he mentioned Howard Hill........
His form was much like I had been shooting all along. Oh wait, my dad thought me how to shoot in the first place.

getting a really perfect tune is more about efficiency than accuracy?

Good, consistent form is more important than numbers?
Aim small, miss small!
