Does B55 ever stop stretching?

Come on in and sit a spell. There's a seat for you around the campfire.

The string was probably made without back laying before the final lay of the bundles .
This is a pet peeve of mine . It seems like most string makers skip this step because it's faster to make a string with straight out laying the bundles .
The technique has been lost because the new way has been taught and passed on .
Captiankirk has a B55 string I made for him a couple years ago and he can't tell the difference between it and Fast Flight .
You can get away with the straight twist of the bundles with Fast Flight because it will grip itself better than Dacron .
Very interesting! Thanks!

I bet you're right too, Tony. Thanks!

I make B50 and B55 strings all the time and, after I stretch them well while making them, they don't seem to stretch much at all.

Thanks, Darren. After listen to you and the other guys, I'm just going to be patient with this string. I probably shot 50-70 arrows today and it stretched another 1/4 plus inches.

Sometimes the stretching has to do with how tightly the string is wound, not the string material itself. If you are constantly stringing and unstringing your bow, you will notice some stretch because the string is relaxed when it is unstrung and the winding of the strands becomes loose.

Yes, especially if it's unwaxed, or the wax has not melted into the string. Great point, Darren!
