My staves have been drying 3 months now. Like you after reading the other thread and now this one I’m thinking hard about removing some wood. Just do some roughing in.

I guess I was nervous about producing a perfect bow on my 1st try. Well 2nd try if you count my eBay stave that you couldn't even Chase a ring on. With perfection abandoned and new hope, I attacked at the problem knots with full fury and was able to get them all out now I just have the propeller twist to deal with. I slimmed both limbs down considerably and expected that I would considerably lower the weight of the bow. But with perfection abandoned I said to myself I need to hit his 30 pounds to hunt in Louisiana. Even though my goal is about 60. After attacking both limbs aggressively I'm happy to say that this both still has well over a 100 pounds on it and still bends very slightly while floor tillering. I abandoned my previous handle idea and reshape the handle to my preferred low wrist long bow grip. It's full steam ahead and I am determined to have a hunting bow for this season. And even if I don't, at least it wont be sitting in the corner staring at me. Now it's time to put it up for the day and play with the kids.

Naw. I may leave it in there lol. I figure if I take it out, I may weaken the wood. All the associated issues should be able to be corrected by good tillering.

Upper limb needs a little bit more work for the handle is the shape that I want it. Bottom limb is bendng well, And I will begin construction of a tillering tree in the next week. Here's what it looks like after today's work.
