First attempt at self bow
This is my first attempt at a Osage self bow. It’s been a learning experience and I’m sure the next one will go a lot easier but I’ve enjoyed every bit of it. I started with a stave from Osage outlaw which is the first pic. Everything after that is from chasing a growth ring to roughing the bow out to steaming and putting in some flip tips. I still have to finish the tillering and putting in a Arrow shelf. I’m already making plans for my next one and some changes that I will make.

Not sure why all the pics didn’t show up

Oh man I’m about to start myself. I’ll be chasing a ring probably Friday.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

Rick, it says the jpeg (image code) is no longer available. If you have the original images on your hard drive, try re-posting. If they are on an online hosting source, check to make sure you have open access.

Re: First attempt at self bow
I just helped you out.
You did good for your first attempt at loading pictures.
You might have not waited long enough for the image to load into the file.

Your welcome.
Are you going to take a bear with it next year?

The electric frying pan that I used to steam the tips with, my wife just bought last week. I don’t think that she had this in mind when she bought it!!
