Wow Rick, that came out beautiful.
I still think you need to take a bear with it.

I’m not sure why but I lost 3 pounds of pull weight from the last time I checked it. Maybe the finish sanding or maybe didn’t let the limbs settle in?

I've gotta say my friend, I am impressed.

Thanks everyone, I still haven’t figured out why my photos are coming in sideways?
Re: First attempt at self bow
Very good, sure doesn’t look like a first, you must have done your homework first.

Nice looking bow. Since you missed your weight by a bit and lost some more in the final sanding maybe you'd like to up your weight a bit.
If so, try maelming. It's supposed to add weight up to 20%.
Gather some pine or spruce resin, I'm told resin from any needle bearing tree will do, dissolve it in turpentine and work the solution in on the belly under heat. But be ready for a lot of work, and messy too.
Was used in the making of wooden skis in Norway but was found to work very well for bows.

Thanks for the tip, there’s a lot to learn but I’m having fun doing it. Hope to start another bow soon!!
