Well here we go. First attempt at a selfie. Hopefully with y’alls wisdom and support I can turn one of these into a functional bow. That short log was to small for me but I figured my youngest would want a bow like dads. First concern is there was some sap that came out of it when I cut it. Not sure if this will be a problem or not. Should’ve been cut a month ago.

Looks good, it appears that you have them sealed good, hope you get some fine bows out of them.

What kind of wood? How long are the pieces and how long are you planning on making the bows?

Osage orange. The three longer ones are 80”. Gave myself some to cut off. The three short ones are around 60 I believe.

Wow. I've been working on a stave for a while. Crap wood though. Shame it cost so much to my door. Wish I had a place to harvest some. Good luck.have you read hunting the osage bow yet?
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

I haven’t read that book yet. I have The Bent Stick by Paul Comstock.
