Well the resist is dry enough to touch so I'll trim the edge and the bottom .
Then I use an edge skiver to bevel the edges.

Now line up the keyhole punch on the spot and the blade straight and parallel on the strap.

And it works.
Now I'll wait at least until tomorrow to do the antiquing gel.
What's it going to look like?........

I get my tools and supplies from Tandy Leather.Jamesh76 wrote:Where do you get your leather supply?
I'm fortunate to have a store within 20 minuits of me.
But you can order online.
The store is nice because you look around and find neat stuff and you can ask questions about something you want to do.

Not a problem, my knives were never that sharp!graps wrote:Yes, a spacer helps to prevent cutting the stitches when the knife goes in and out.

Now I'm going to use tan antiquing gel and put it on with a dobber.
Put it on liberally and then using a dry paper towel wipe it like you are drying it off.
If the resist worked the feather detail will stand out lighter than the background.
I also put it on the exposed flesh side of the leather.
Thats why I haven't stitched up the belt loop yet.
