Thanksgiving Day recliner hunt!

#1 Post by Carpdaddy »

Yep; I'm kicked back in my recliner waiting on Big bird to cook and watching the excitement on my phone from a friends trail cams. It's been lighting up this morning, I guess they know were relaxing today!  This bunch says... "Eat more Deer"!

Lol! Sometimes it makes us wonder exactly how sneaky (or possibly the lack there of) , we really are when going into the woods! Ive always wondered about my impact on the woods, and a camera would just confirm my lack of ability to the point of depression! No cameras for SURE, for me now!

On a side note, on days of nothing, how many times has it been a dogs fault that we knew nothing about!

I've seen in print that deer pattern hunters far better then hunters pattern deer

One reason those same pundits pen that the first time you sit a stand, you JUST PUT UP, is your best chance of success!

I try to be varied, but mostly park at the same place and vary where I go and how I get there...many I've hunted with follow the same trail in and out every trip to the woods...

So, instead of the "butler did it" it's the hunters mantra, " The dog did it" ??? :P
All we have and call our own, once belonged to someone else, and will again. Our purpose here is not to serve ourselves.

Interesting thing. Deer went on alert at 9:08 this morning, the first picture of the dog was at 9:25. As you can see on the picture the one I posted of the dog was 9:28, the deer was long gone!

Nothing is hard fast rule, but first time in to sit, is a huge key to large old bucks, if all else is right.
