Maybe Carp! I sure haven't seen anything like that out and about, but I have seen several single deer around as well as does with fawns.

Set my cheapy Cam, it took 163 pictures since my last visit. I may need to change the settings, right now it takes one every minute. When one hangs out for a while it racks up a lot of pics of the same deer.

Here's the problem... Neither of us ever saw a deer from the treestand overlooking this place last season!

I think most deer have a subscription to the hunting rules & regulations, including season opener dates.

It's probably just a seasonal issue. When heat breaks from summer, the deer just might change up a long with it.
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.
