Yes, good luck to you both.

That's quite a stout little knife there.
Jesus replaces the old covenant and speaks to the believer the moral code of God by His Spirit directly to the heart. He is the eternal, everlasting revelation of God to mankind. In Him is both the knowledge of righteousness and the power to live right.

Yeah it is. One of my favorites for small bushcrafting knives called the mora eldris very good for small tasks and extremely controllable. Of course I have a couple of graps knives for skinning and such but this paired with the bigger mora garberg are great for bush crafting, which I very much enjoy.

Didnt even see a bushy tail today. The lunar solar calendar said that these past two days were not good for deer but they were the days I had to go. Not really a bad day in the woods especially when your with by best friend.

I did harvest a small piece of fat wood for fire starting, which I tested to great success. Also I showed Will that the inner bark of the pine tree is edible in a pinch. Lots of sugars and starches but I will say it's better roasted over a fire. Will is also quite a good bushcrafter. We enjoyed being in the woods in each others company as much as hunting.

Good stuff works fast. I usually carry 3 or 4 pieces placed in a zip lock bag inside my pack.

When a pine tree falls to the ground from either a large branch or the stump. Most of the wood decays pretty rapidly however some of the wood where the branches meet the trunk and at the very base of a rotten stump are so filled with resin that they do not decay like the wood around it. This highly saturated resin wood Burns very easily with a strike from a ferrocerium rod and for a long period of time due to the resin content. it's very good for starting fires in wet weather or any weather for that matter and can be harvested not only from pine trees but any tree that produces a cone aka a conifer. The key to find in really good fat wood is to find what is called dead standing wood. For instance if a 6 inch thick branch falls to the ground a branch coming off of it that is standing off the ground would be dead standing. The piece pictured above was harvested from such a piece. The joint where that standing wood meets the truck would likely contain the resin. You can always tell because the wood will almost look wet with sap and will be an amber to red color. It's literally everywhere in our woods and is easy picking because the dead wood separates from it very easily. If you find a rotten pine stump reach down into it and you will also find it near the bottom center of the stump. Make sure you separate the dead wood from it and store it accordingly.
