Hunting app search
I have been looking at hunting apps primarily to have access to information on public land and private land boundaries. Anyone here have any first hand experience with an app they would recommend. Hunt x and Hunt wise are 2 I am considering. Possibly others. I would appreciate any info
Re: Hunting app search
I use hunt x and really like it. I really like that even after the free trial expires you get the ability to track and save hunts plus put markers down to return to locations. I have tried hunt wise and didnt like the interface as much.
Nothing clears a troubled mind like shooting a bow.

Not familiar with either. I know Jamesh76 uses Antler Insanity and likes it.

Re: Hunting app search
I'm trying HuntStand and BaseMap this year. I also have Antler Insanity, OnX hunt and Ihunt 750. All can be used for free, they just keep you from using some of the better features. I am finding features in each I like and find myself bouncing from one to the other.
The one thing about BaseMap I have noticed is that it is showing the property boundaries but won't give you info about that property. That's fine with me, that is what I mainly need to know so I don't wander onto property that I don't have permission to hunt on.
For a lot of them you will need cell coverage for the maps unless you subscribe and can download the maps to have when you don't have cell coverage.
OnX Hunt is used a ton around here, but that might be because it is made here in Missoula Mt. and we are up in the mountains.

Yes. However I dont need property boundaries for the private I hunt. For state or walk in. Kansaa uses explorer for arcgis or a google map overlay showing boundaries and lines. For what you describe needing. 30$ a year for onx may be best bet.Captainkirk wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2019 7:33 pm Not familiar with either. I know Jamesh76 uses Antler Insanity and likes it.
