The majority of your bowhunting year is spent practicing and/or training. This is the place to discuss it!

So I turned them horizontally and have been doing so every since. I can't tell a bit of difference in flight, accuracy, or feel myself.
That was one of the reasons I was told to mount 'em flat. Another was that a larger BH can interfere with your line of sight(???) if mounted vertically. Not sure I understand that one.

It's early in my testing process, I got a feeling I may change them back before season, not sure yet. Mighty close to my hand! When I first start shooting them I can't keep from noticing them as I draw/anchor, it hinders my concentration on the spot, but soon I see them no more!

That's one of the reasons I try to leave my shafts as close to full length as possible!

And I like mine short as possible to handle additional weight up front. Guess there is no wrong way, just different ways. :geek:

I prefer mine short as possible...but with tuning on the front of my agenda, unfortunately most arrows I want to use in my poundage and head weight ends up longer then I like....im pretty much used to it now though.
The element of surprise can never be replaced by persistence.

Ahh, but recall if you will...the heaviest BH I've used so far has been 125gr.

I'm in the short arrow camp too! More FoC, less arrow for wind to catch, handier in the back/bow quiver, and less weight spent on the shaft means I can spend more on the arrowhead.

I did a little trading and now have a few more BHs to add to my collection and test out, got some big old magnus 1, a simmons tigershark, and some 190gn vpa 3 blades.

I am kinda digging the mean looks of the simmons, sharpens up nice on the accusharp too, I was a little worried as I have seen many threads about how hard they are to sharpen.
