First board bow finished
Well, it is officailly finished. only 25 # at 26" but the wife has claimed it as hers so all is well. Thanks to James for his help in both doing it and convincing me to go for it. Already have a couple more Red Oak boards awaiting their turn sometime in the near future. I may try the flatbow or paddle bow next. I know that I need to go slower in a couple of areas next time, especially at the tips. This bow is already better than a hickory one that I bought via the internet six years ago for her. learned a lot, got a lot to learn but I am pretty set up tool wise other than still looking for an old drawknife. I really like my sawhorse setup using the ratchet clamps. Let me tell you this, if someone like me can do it, anyone can do it. watched a lot of videos, asked a lot of questions, got some great answers and even more help. I have to say that there is nothing like holding something like a bow that you made and it actually looks decent.
